One of the most reassuring things about getting involved is that you aren’t doing it alone. There are already great organizations (a few of which are listed and linked below) who can offer you all the guidance and support you’ll need. There are also others in your own community who would probably love to get involved too. Start by checking out education-related groups like Parent/Teacher Associations (PTAs) — then talk with friends and colleagues about working together to make a difference in your community.

Also look for Regional Education Centers (RECs), which coordinate and facilitate the delivery of information, resources, and services to students, educators, employers and the community. You can learn more about RECs by clicking here.
