One at a time.

Feeling overwhelmed and nervous about your child's college process? It's true, there's a lot to keep track of. That's why we've compiled a Resource Kit of checklists and other tools to keep you and your child focused on what needs to be done.
In the meantime, here are some big-picture reminders as your child prepares for college:
DON'T WAIT :: Make sure your child registers ahead of the deadline for required exams like the PSAT, SAT and ACT. The sessions will be full, so don't wait until it's too late.
KEEP IT TOGETHER :: Keep a folder or binder with all college-related materials in a desk or central location in the house where everybody can get to it. You'll stay organized and keep track of important documents.
IN PLAIN VIEW :: Post a to-do list on the refrigerator when important application and test deadlines are getting close.
TURN THE KEY :: Remember that FAFSA is your child's key to getting the maximum possible financial aid for college, so don't miss the deadline and jeopardize your award. Apply for aid as soon as possible after January 1.
BE PRESENT :: Plan ahead for campus visits so your child can see first-hand the schools they're interested in most. It's the best way to narrow down top choices.
